As an alternative to the windmill farm you can go blueberry picking at Bartlett’s Blueberry Farm in Newport, NH. This will be on Friday morning and on Saturday for those who don’t do the hike or the canoe trip. Blueberries that are picked will be used in some of the food we eat. Blueberry pancakes, desserts, muffins…whatever the cooks can dream up.
Pick them on Friday, eat them on Saturday morning. And Sunday morning. And Friday night dessert.
The Bartlett family has been around the area for quite some time and have become good friends. That’s how we got access to the windmill farm.
More than just a blueberry farm they offer several other product including maple syrup and honey.
The blueberries are just ripening now. Awesome flavor.
Grab a handful but try not to eat them as you go. Get a bucket and get to work.
