On Friday morning for those interested we can visit the windmill farm atop the mountain. A group did this at the previous STP and the consensus was that the walk up the hill is very steep. Like stairs. Driving there may be better.
Everyone who went was impressed with the size and scale of these giant windmills.
As a result of our good neighborly relations we have the security code to the gate and permission from the property owner to visit. Otherwise it’s impossible to get from the windmill owners.
The windmills line the mountain top. Here is one in the center of the photo. This is a photo from the “lunch across the pond” event held on the Thursday of the second week.
From this location and from inside the camp you can hear the swishing of the windmill blades.
